Minister of Labor Praises ETHYDCO’s Capabilities and Employees’ Efficiency During Company Visit

In line with the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral
Resources aimed at developing human capital, promoting a safe working
environment, and supporting cooperation and integration with state
institutions, and under the directives of Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and the follow-up of Chemist Alaa Abdel
Fattah, Chairman of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), Mr.
Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, visited the headquarters of the Egyptian
Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) in Alexandria.
The Minister was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Mahmoud Hamzawy,
Director of the Alexandria Labor Directorate; Abdel Wanis Abdallah, Deputy
Director of the Directorate; and a number of senior Ministry officials. They
were received by Chemist Hesham Riyad, Chairman and Managing Director of
ETHYDCO, along with a number of the company’s senior executives.
The meeting began with the screening of a documentary on the company’s
occupational safety and health system, followed by a corporate documentary
about ETHYDCO highlighting the company’s establishment, production
capabilities, key achievements, and its role in supporting the petrochemicals
industry and meeting the needs of both the local and export markets, as well as
its efforts in environmental protection and corporate social responsibility.
Chemist Hesham Riyad delivered a welcoming address to the Minister of
Labor and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing that ETHYDCO places great
importance on human capital as the company’s most valuable asset and a key
pillar for achieving development and increasing production. He also highlighted
the company’s commitment to providing a safe and stable working environment,
developing employees’ skills, and enhancing their efficiency.
Chemist Hesham Riyad also highlighted the role of the Ministry of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources and its vision for developing the
petrochemicals industry and maximizing added value. He praised the continuous
support of Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and
the ongoing follow-up of Chemist Alaa Abdel Fattah, Chairman of the Egyptian
Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), which support the company’s progress
and contribute to achieving its objectives.
For his part, the Minister of Labor praised the advanced capabilities and
distinguished operational standards he witnessed during the visit. He commended
the skills and efficiency of the plant’s employees, as well as the company
management’s efforts to support its workforce, provide a safe working
environment, and implement occupational safety and health standards.
The Minister also praised ETHYDCO’s role in corporate social
responsibility and its contributions to supporting the most vulnerable groups
and empowering persons with disabilities. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s
continued support for initiatives and partnerships that promote integration
between training, employment, production, and corporate social responsibility,
contributing to the development of a more efficient and competitive labor
market.
The Minister then toured the plant, accompanied by Chemist Hesham Riyad,
who provided an overview of the company’s operations, capabilities, production
units, and the various stages of the production process.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Minister of Labor joined the
employees for a commemorative group photo in appreciation of the skill,
efficiency, and outstanding performance he witnessed. He emphasized that
qualified human capital is fundamental to the success of institutions and to
sustaining production and development.
