The Egypt Energy Show (EGYPS 2026)
continues to solidify its position as one of the most prominent global events
in the energy sector. This year’s edition holds particular significance amid
the growing challenges facing the global energy industry and the increasing
need to enhance dialogue and coordination among governments, major companies,
and all stakeholders.
The conference was held under the patronage and in the presence of President
Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with
wide participation from senior officials, experts, decision-makers, and leaders
of the energy sector at both local and regional levels. This reinforces Egypt’s
position as a regional energy hub, placing it at the heart of international
discussions on energy security, the future of energy, sustainability of
supplies, and the promotion of international partnerships in this vital sector.
Distinguished Participation and Continued Presence
For the ninth consecutive year, the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives
Company (ETHYDCO) continues its participation in this important event, which,
in its current edition, features more than 500 exhibiting companies, over 50
national and international energy companies, 13 international pavilions, and
thousands of visitors, specialists, and experts from across the energy
industry.
ETHYDCO’s participation this year stands out, extending beyond its prominent
exhibition booth to include active engagement in several technical conference
sessions and new initiatives, particularly those aimed at supporting and
encouraging innovation among young professionals in the petroleum sector.
A Distinguished Pavilion Attracting Attention
ETHYDCO’s pavilion is considered one of the main attractions within the
exhibition, drawing the attention of officials, visitors, exhibitors, and
energy experts alike. It showcases comprehensive information about the
company’s activities and products through visual presentations and documentary
films displayed throughout the event.
Petroleum Sector Leaders Visit ETHYDCO Pavilion
During the second day of the exhibition, Chemist Alaa Abdel Fattah,
President of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM), visited
ETHYDCO’s pavilion at EGYPS, where he praised the pavilion’s distinguished
standard, reflecting the remarkable development achieved by ETHYDCO, as well as
the notable progress of the Egyptian petrochemical sector as a whole.
The pavilion also witnesses the continuous presence of the company’s
leadership, who are keen to hold direct meetings with local and international
clients, respond to visitors’ inquiries, present the company’s current and
future plans, and explore opportunities for cooperation and expanding
partnerships.
In this context, Chemist Hesham Riyad,
Chairman and Managing Director of ETHYDCO, affirmed that the company’s
participation in EGYPS 2026 reflects its ongoing commitment to being present at
major industry events that serve as key platforms for strengthening cooperation
and exchanging expertise.
He added that such participation provides promising opportunities to open
new markets, support existing ones, strengthen partnerships with local and
international companies, and stay updated on the latest global trends in
energy, sustainability, and petrochemical industries—thereby opening new
horizons for development and innovation.
Supporting Innovation and Empowering Youth
Chemist Hesham Riyad further noted that ETHYDCO’s participation this year
witnessed notable expansion to include a number of new initiatives, most
notably those aimed at supporting and encouraging young innovators. The company
participated with a group of its young engineers as part of the Ministry of
Petroleum’s award-winning team that received the “BRICS” Award.
The award-winning project is based on utilizing artificial intelligence
technologies to enhance the production of medium-scale biogas units in rural
and urban areas by converting organic waste into a source of clean energy and
organic fertilizer.
The project also contributes to improving the operational efficiency of
these units using advanced technologies, resulting in an increase in biogas
production by more than 25% and boosting returns by over 20%. This aligns with
the state’s direction toward a green economy, supports sustainable development,
and contributes to reducing carbon emissions.
He emphasized that the initiative to support young innovators at EGYPS 2026
reflects the state’s orientation toward investing in human capital and
empowering young leaders. It also demonstrates the Ministry of Petroleum and
Mineral Resources’ commitment to fostering creativity and innovation, while
anticipating the future through the development of young talents.
These efforts contribute to preparing a generation capable of providing
innovative solutions to future challenges in the petroleum sector, achieving
sustainability, and enhancing the competitiveness of petroleum industries.
Chemist Hesham Riyad concluded by reaffirming ETHYDCO’s strong belief in the
importance of young talents and its commitment to empowering them by providing
a supportive work environment that fosters development, creativity, and
innovation—ultimately contributing to further achievements and strengthening
the company’s position both locally and internationally.
