In line with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ commitment to implementing presidential initiatives and directives that place citizens’ health among the nation’s top priorities, including President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s “New Day” initiative aimed at supporting and advancing the healthcare system while enhancing the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, witnessed a number of healthcare projects at Alexandria University, during which the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) carried out comprehensive infrastructure upgrades and construction enhancements, improving essential facilities and equipment to help provide a safe, sustainable, and advanced medical environment in accordance with the highest international standards.
The event was attended by Major General Ahmed Alaa El-Din Eissa, Chief of Staff of the Northern Military Region, Chemist Hesham Riyad, Chairman and Managing Director of ETHYDCO, along with several members of the House of Representatives and Senate, officials from ETHYDCO, and representatives of sister petroleum companies.
As part of the ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored Chemist Hesham Riyad, Chairman and Managing Director of ETHYDCO, in recognition of the company’s contributions to supporting and developing healthcare and educational projects. The Minister praised the integration between state institutions and civil society, describing it as a successful model of effective partnership in providing an advanced healthcare environment that meets citizens’ needs.
For his part, Chemist Hesham Riyad affirmed that ETHYDCO’s contribution reflects the company’s commitment to supporting developmental initiatives within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. The initiative aims to support the state’s efforts to advance the healthcare and educational sectors and improve the quality of services provided to priority groups. He also noted that the cooperation between ETHYDCO and Alexandria University represents a successful model that has expanded to include various fields, including practical training opportunities for students of the Faculties of Engineering and Science, support for university hospitals, and collaboration in joint applied research projects.
These projects are considered among the vital and strategic initiatives supporting the healthcare and educational systems in Alexandria Governorate, contributing to enhancing the efficiency and quality of medical services provided to citizens.
