Ethydco exports its first shipment of recycled polyethylene to Spain

As part of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources aimed at achieving sustainability as a priority for the petroleum and gas industry in line with Egypt's vision for sustainable development by 2030. Ethydco has successfully exported its first shipment of recycled polyethylene products to Spain. On this occasion, Mr. Hisham Riad, the company' s Chairman and CEO, congratulated the company's employees who contributed to this achievement. He praised the great cooperation between the Marketing and Sales Department, the Polyethylene Department, the Production Planning Department, and the Laboratories and Research Department, whose efforts contributed to all stages of work, production, research, and planning. He emphasized that their dedicated efforts were a key factor in reaching the export stage after the company' s success in marketing the product locally and the high demand for it.
Ethydco had begun implementing the strategy of partial product recycling on October 25, 2023, to produce a final product of recycled polyethylene for reuse or conversion into raw materials for new products. These products are considered much cheaper, and recycling is a major component of the circular economy, both globally and locally. Recycling helps create added value for products that are largely considered waste, contributes to achieving cost control in production, and is part of environmental solutions. Recycling also helps reduce the use of primary natural resources, thus helping to preserve these resources.
