Within the framework of the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Hassan Said, Governor of Alexandria, inaugurated the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for People of Determination in Borg El Arab, Alexandria. The ceremony was attended by Chemist Hesham Riyad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO).
The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center for People of Determination, which was equipped and furnished by ETHYDCO, reflects the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ keenness to contribute to the implementation of Egypt’s Vision 2030 in cooperation with all state entities. This comes within the framework of the Presidential Initiative to develop rural Egypt under the “Decent Life” program. The center provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for people of determination across all categories, estimated at more than 3,000 citizens in 40 villages and hamlets.
Chemist Hesham Riyad emphasized the importance of ETHYDCO’s economic role in addition to its social responsibility efforts, which align with the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. He pointed out that supporting and caring for people of determination is a priority, and that the center represents a model of integration between the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and civil society, community, and volunteer organizations.
The inauguration was attended by representatives of the Technical Office of the Ministry of Petroleum, Mrs. Yasmin Naguib and Mrs. Fatma Ibrahim, representatives of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company, Eng. Amal Sabry Mobdi, President of the Egyptian Federation for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Ibrahim El-Gamal, Head of the Fatwa Committee and General Director of Preaching at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Senator Dina El-Helaly, MP Tarek El-Sayed, Ms. Fayza Zayed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Mr. Tharwat Abdel Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the 2030 Development Foundation.
It is worth noting that the center provides its services free of charge, especially for beneficiaries of the “Takaful and Karama” social protection program. The operation and management of the center has been assigned by the Directorate of Social Solidarity to the Youth 2030 Development Foundation, within an institutional framework that reflects the state’s vision of involving governmental bodies, youth, and civil society in addressing the needs of people of determination. This contributes to achieving Egypt’s vision of building an inclusive society founded on the principles of social justice and comprehensive development.
