Ethydco Obtains PE80 and PE100 Certification in Compliance with European Standards

As part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to maximize local content and achieve sustainability as a priority for the oil and gas industry, and in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, Ethydco has successfully obtained PE80 and PE100 certifications in compliance with European standards from the German SKZ laboratories.

This achievement allows the use of this product in the pipe manufacturing industry.

Plastic pipe samples made from this product to go through strict pressure tests at various temperatures for a continuous period of 14 months. Afterward, they are classified based on their ability to withstand different pressure levels according to global standard specifications.

With this accomplishment, Ethydco has become one of the leading companies in Africa to obtain PE80 and PE100 certifications in compliance with European standards for plastic pipe raw materials. This strengthens its competitiveness in both local and global markets and supports the country’s efforts to achieve sustainable development and reduce dependence on imported products.

It is worth mentioning that obtaining this certification enables the product to be used in infrastructure and urban development projects within major national initiatives led by the country, such as the construction of new cities and urban communities and the “Haya Karima” initiative for developing Egyptian villages. This contributes to reducing import costs and maximizing local content in the Egyptian industry.
